This painting was inspired by hurricane Sandy. The fishing boat is meant to represent the hurricane as fishing boats move into waterways and disrupt the ecosystems which reside there.The heart caught in its fishing net is meant to symbolize those regions who have been affected by the storm and who's lives have forever changed because of it; Those along the coast who both live and plan their lives according to the currents and tides, whose hearts truly lie with the sea.
